Free 5-gallon trees delivered to your home or community space, October through March
The home-delivery side of NeighborWoods, funded by Austin Energy and the City of Austin and run by TreeFolks. Eligible residents sign up online and TreeFolks delivers a free 5-gallon tree during the planting season. A limited number of trees are set aside each season for schools, churches, apartment complexes, community gardens and small businesses, which must submit a planting and care plan.
Who qualifies
Community members, small businesses and community spaces located in the City of Austin's Full Purpose Jurisdiction, Austin Energy electricity customers, or both. Recipients must have enough space for the tree (Right Tree, Right Place) and commit to regular watering for at least the first two years.
How to apply
Sign up online at the TreeFolks delivery page (app.treefolks.org/signup). Deliveries begin in October 2026 and continue through March 2027 or while supplies last. Community spaces use a separate application and must include a planting and care plan.
