# TreeRM

> TreeRM.org is a directory of organizations that plant trees: reforestation groups, urban forestry nonprofits, tree adoption and giveaway programs, nurseries, seed collectors and government planting programs. It records what each one does (activity types and named programs), where it works, how many trees it reports year by year with a source link and confidence label on every figure, and its upcoming events and volunteer opportunities with links to the organization's own registration pages. 51 organizations, 62 countries, 50,341,187,079 trees on record, 0 upcoming events. Data is CC BY 4.0; cite TreeRM.org.

Every HTML page has a Markdown twin at the same URL with `.md` appended, or by requesting `Accept: text/markdown`. Figures are the organizations' own unless marked independently verified. TreeRM does not host registrations or take donations; it links to each organization's systems. Volunteer-run from Austin, Texas; it grew out of work on TreeFolks' tree adoption software.
