Central Texas nonprofit planting and giving away trees in Austin and the surrounding region since 1989
Somewhere near you, on Saturday mornings in the planting season, a group of people puts trees in the ground, and most of them would be glad of another pair of hands. TreeRM keeps track of who those people are, in 80 countries, along with what they have planted and what they say about it. It also keeps track of the quieter help: the city program that will plant a tree on your curb strip if you ask, the utility that mails out a shade tree, the state nursery that sells seedlings by the hundred. Type a city and we will show you what is there.
Or start from where you live and we will show what is on offer there (we think you are near Columbus, OH).
Nothing scheduled within reach that we know of. The full events list is the next place to look.
A mangrove nursery on the Senegal coast and a Saturday giveaway in a Texas parking lot both count as planting trees, and they have almost nothing else in common. These are the kinds of work we track. Most organizations do two or three of them.
Nearly every figure on this site is one an organization published about itself, and we say so. Each carries the year it refers to, a link to the report or page it came from, and a label telling you whether anyone outside the organization checked it. Where we worked something out ourselves, the note explains how.
Read how we countThere are thousands of groups planting trees and we have found a fraction of them. If you know one that is not here, send us its website and its city. We do the rest.
