About

TreeFolks is an Austin-based 501(c)(3) that plants and distributes trees across Central Texas. Its NeighborWoods program, run with the City of Austin and Austin Energy, holds free tree adoption events for Austin residents each fall and winter, and its Central Texas Floodplain Reforestation Program plants riparian forests on private land at no cost to landowners. The organization also runs community plantings, a native tree nursery with a seed collection program, and reforested the Lost Pines region after the 2011 Bastrop wildfires.
