Trees on the Land
馃嚠馃嚜 Ireland 路 Trees on the Land
Native bare-root tree mixes supplied each winter to landowners, schools and community sites across all 32 counties of Ireland
A not-for-profit project that supplies bare-rooted native forestry-grade whips to farmers, smallholders, community groups, sports clubs, councils, schools, colleges and other landowners across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Trees are distributed and planted between December and March each year, with low-impact establishment (minimal ground preparation, few guards and stakes, no chemical weedkillers), and recipients look after the trees. It is funded by donations, sponsorship, grants and contributions from participating landowners.
Who qualifies
Landowners, farmers, community groups, clubs, councils, schools and colleges anywhere on the island of Ireland with a site to plant and maintain. The website does not publish size, fencing or cost conditions; some participants contribute to costs.
