DCNR Service Forester Assistance
馃嚭馃嚫 PA, United States 路 Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Forestry
One-on-one advice from your county's state service forester on managing woods, planting trees and finding cost-share money
DCNR's Bureau of Forestry assigns a service forester to every Pennsylvania county. They give private woodland owners and communities technical advice on sustainable forest management, tree planting, riparian buffers and water-quality practices, review Forest Stewardship and NRCS plans, explain cost-share options, and tell you how to hire a consulting forester. Service foresters advise but do not mark or sell timber.
Who qualifies
Pennsylvania woodland owners, community forest managers and residents. No acreage threshold is stated.
How to apply
Use the 'Contact a Service Forester' form on DCNR's Managing Your Woods page, or look up your county on the Service Forester List (PDF) and call directly.
