Up to two free trees per year for single-family and duplex homeowners in Miami-Dade County
Miami-Dade County gives single-family and duplex homeowners up to two free trees each Adopt-a-Tree season at in-person distribution events. Quantities at each event are limited and first come, first served. The 2026 season had three events (May 16 at Hialeah Gardens Senior High, July 25 at FIU Biscayne Bay Campus, and September 13 at Zoo Miami) and is now over.
Who qualifies
Single-family and duplex residential properties in Miami-Dade County. Apartment buildings and trailer parks do not qualify. Condo owners need written board authorization for a common area; renters need the property owner's written authorization. Bring a photo ID showing the property address (a utility bill is accepted only alongside photo ID; recent buyers bring the HUD1 bill of sale).
How to apply
Attend a scheduled Adopt-a-Tree event with proof of residency; owners with a public records exemption must register in person. Sign up on the page for email updates about the 2027 season.
