Advice and action plans from state foresters on insects and disease, cost-share programs, regeneration planning and which seedlings to plant
LDAF's Office of Forestry says its foresters are in the field providing Louisiana's roughly 148,000 woodland owners with advice and action plans, covering insect and disease problems, federal and state cost-share programs, planning for regeneration before harvest, and which seedlings to plant, with follow-up visits to make sure practices are carried out. The office is also the lead agency for the federal Forest Stewardship Program in Louisiana, which recognizes landowners managing their land for total resource management.
