The Georgia Forestry Commission grows 15 to 20 million seedlings a year at Flint River Nursery in Byromville and sells them to the public, in small or large quantities. Species include loblolly, slash, longleaf and shortleaf pine (including improved varieties), oaks, ornamental, fruit and flowering trees, and a pollinator pack.
Who qualifies
Available to the public first come, first served; GFC says it caters to small, private, non-industrial landowners. Discounts apply to orders of 10,000 hardwoods or 100,000 pines.
How to apply
Order at gaseedlings.org (online store) or call Flint River Nursery, 478-508-0056, with payment accompanying the order. Sales for the 2026-27 season opened in early July 2026 and deliveries begin the first week of December; orders ship to the GFC county unit you pick at checkout or can be picked up at the nursery. Orders must be picked up by March 15 or are forfeited.
