City of Miami Tree Giveaways
馃嚭馃嚫 Miami, FL, United States 路 City of Miami
Free fruit and shade trees for City of Miami residents at district giveaway events each spring and fall
The City of Miami holds tree giveaways in each of its five districts as part of its Extreme Heat Plan. Residents show proof of City of Miami residency and receive trees first come, first served; pre-registering gives priority. Fall 2026 events ran October 2-4 with mango, avocado, starfruit, lychee, geiger, white cordia, bougainvillea and small-leaf clusia; spring Arbor Day events ran April 4-25, 2026.
Who qualifies
Must live within City of Miami boundaries (not just Miami-Dade County) and provide proof of residency on the day of the event.
How to apply
Pre-register for an upcoming event when it is posted on the Tree Giveaways page, then bring proof of residency. The next events are the Arbor Day giveaways in April 2027; details will be posted later. Contact EnvironmentalRes@miami.gov or resilience@miami.gov.
