Parkway Tree Planting Request (Our Roots Chicago)
馃嚭馃嚫 Chicago, IL, United States 路 City of Chicago Department of Streets and Sanitation, Bureau of Forestry
A city-planted tree in the parkway in front of your address at no stated cost
The Bureau of Forestry plants trees along the public right-of-way as part of the Our Roots Chicago canopy effort. Anyone wanting a new tree on the parkway in front of a Chicago address submits a 311 service request; Forestry staff then inspect the site and plant during the next available season. Requests are handled in the order received.
Who qualifies
The page says "Chicago property owners who want a new tree planted on their parkways should contact 311 or simply submit a request online"; the service lists "Residents" and "Home Owners" as the people served. The planting site is the public parkway, and Forestry staff investigate each site before planting.
How to apply
Call 311 or submit a Tree Planting request online at 311.chicago.gov (the city page's "Get Started Online" button). You can list first, second and third species preferences from the City of Chicago Urban Tree Planting List; some species may not be available.
