About

Trillion Trees Australia is a Western Australian not-for-profit founded in 1979 as Men of the Trees WA, part of the movement started by Richard St Barbe Baker in 1922, and renamed in 2019. From its Hazelmere base it runs a community native plant nursery (established 1987, producing 150,000-200,000 plants a year), landscape restoration projects along the Helena and Swan rivers, in the Wheatbelt and in Chittering, free community planting days, and the SPROUT! schools program that has involved more than 120,000 students. It says it has planted over 15 million native trees and understorey plants across Western Australia; in 2024-25 it planted 42,899 trees on 22.6 hectares.

What they run

Riparian and woodland restoration at Guildford Meadows, Reg Bond Reserve (Viveash), Dabakarn (Chittering), Wagin and other WA sites, planted largely by volunteers at free winter community planting days.

Volunteer-run nursery established in 1987 that propagates more than 200 WA native species for its own projects, councils, friends groups and landholders.
