About
Sylv'ACCTES ('Des forêts pour demain') is a French association founded in 2016 and recognised as being of general interest (DGFIP tax ruling of 16 February 2018). It does not plant trees itself: it finances up to 70% of the cost of silvicultural work (planting and natural regeneration, thinning, designating future and habitat trees, converting even-aged stands to mixed forest) for private and public forest owners, within 'Projets Sylvicoles Territoriaux' co-designed with regional nature parks and local authorities, and checks the work in the field. It is funded by donations from individuals, companies and foundations (42 patrons in 2024), is recognised as a nature-based solution by IUCN, belongs to 1% for the Planet and is supported by ADEME. In 2024 it supported work on 2,260 hectares in five regions (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Occitanie, Grand Est, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Île-de-France) across 37 active territorial projects, with EUR 1.3 million invested in forests; it reports more than 13,000 hectares supported since 2016.
