About
Rete Clima was founded in 2011 in Mariano Comense (Como) by Paolo Viganò as a technical network advising companies on climate, carbon and nature strategy, and became an Impresa Sociale (non-profit third-sector enterprise) in July 2022. That year it launched Foresta Italia with Coldiretti and PEFC Italia, under the patronage of the Italian environment and agriculture ministries: companies finance urban and peri-urban forestry ('BioForest' sites) in municipal parks and rural land using Italian-nursery stock with certificates of origin, and Rete Clima quantifies the resulting ecosystem services. Its website lists 84 forest areas from Aosta to Sicily, and the campaign reported roughly 50,000 trees in 2022, 60,000 by June 2023, 132,000 at 150 sites with 117 companies by June 2025 and over 175,000 by June 2026. Its 2022 social report shows revenue of EUR 1.37 million, 165 clients and four employees.
