Neighbors apply together for free street trees in Providence and plant them as a group
About
The Providence Neighborhood Planting Program has put more than 16,000 street trees into the city since 1989. A group of neighbors applies for trees for their street, the program supplies them, and everyone plants together on a Saturday. Its PVD Tree Keepers training teaches residents to prune and care for young trees.
