The Motutapu Restoration Trust has been replanting native forest on Motutapu Island, a ferry ride from downtown Auckland, since 1994. Volunteers plant, control weeds and work in the island nursery on Wednesdays, Fridays and scheduled Sundays, with November and December 2026 dates already posted. Register online, book the ferry, and bring lunch and boots.
