China's national public fundraising foundation for land greening, active since 1985
About
The China Green Foundation (中国绿化基金会) is a national public fundraising foundation established in Beijing on 27 September 1985 under the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. It channels corporate and public donations, including most of Alipay Ant Forest's funding, into afforestation, desert control and ecological restoration projects, mainly in China's arid north and west. Its branded programs include Happy Homeland (economic trees for poor rural households), the Million Forest Program (desert-edge shelterbelts), Green Citizen Action (poplar and saxaul planting in desertified land), Nature China (endangered-species habitat) and the Internet + Voluntary Tree Planting platform. It holds UN ECOSOC consultative status and is an IUCN member.
