**What you get:** Free yard trees from a participating utility or city, reserved online with a tool that shows where to plant for energy savings

The Arbor Day Foundation runs tree distribution programs for more than 120 utility, city and corporate partners. Residents in a partner's service area reserve free trees through the Foundation's online distribution tool, which maps the best planting spot for shade and energy savings, and pick them up or receive them by mail. In 2023-24 the program distributed 618,000 trees across 3,427 cities.

## Who qualifies

Customers or residents of a participating utility or city; each partner sets the number of trees per household and target zip codes.

## How to apply

Check whether your electric utility or city runs a distribution (search your utility's name plus 'Energy-Saving Trees' or ask the utility); reserve online when the partner's window opens. Individuals can also use the Foundation's advocacy link to suggest a distribution in their area.

**When:** Varies by partner; most distributions run in spring and fall

**For:** Homeowners

> Note: The old Energy-Saving Trees address (energysavingtrees.arborday.org) now redirects to the Foundation's Community Tree Distributions page, which is written for partner organizations. Individual sign-up only happens through a participating utility or city.
