**What you get:** Up to 2 free trees per registration at seasonal pickup events for Mecklenburg County residents

TreesCharlotte gives away trees at TreeAdoption events held from fall through early spring. Each registration is limited to 2 trees, and every attendee completes a planting demonstration on site (plan for at least 45 minutes). TreesCharlotte now serves all of Mecklenburg County, not just the City of Charlotte; some events are limited to particular zip codes or towns.

## Who qualifies

Mecklenburg County residents only. Each registration needs a unique name, address and email; duplicates are cancelled. Anyone who has previously adopted more than 20 trees is no longer eligible.

## How to apply

Register online for a specific event; registration typically opens 5-7 days before each event. 2026-27 season dates: Sep 26, 2026 (all residents); Oct 17 (under-canopied zip codes); Nov 7 (North Charlotte); Dec 5 (Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson); Dec 12 (East Charlotte); Jan 30, 2027 (South Charlotte); Feb 20 (Mint Hill, Matthews, Pineville); Feb 27 (West Charlotte); Mar 20, 2027 (all residents).
