**What you get:** Training and resources for residents who want to lead a tree planting or greening project in their own neighborhood

NeighborWoods is the Sacramento Tree Foundation's program for community members who want to lead urban greening projects where they live. The foundation connects residents with its network of resources and trains them to run grassroots projects; past examples include community tree plantings, free stump removal, free fruit trees, water-wise landscaping and park clean-ups.

## Who qualifies

No formal eligibility rules are listed. The foundation prioritizes community-led projects in areas with low tree canopy, naming the River District, Rancho Cordova, Folsom, and large parts of North and South Sacramento.

## How to apply

Use the 'Send us a message' form on the NeighborWoods page or call 916-924-8733 to ask what resources are available in your neighborhood. Groups wanting trees planted at a shared site can apply for a community planting at sactree.org/programs/free-shade-trees/community-plantings/.

**For:** Community groups, Homeowners, Renters

> Note: The page does not say whether NeighborWoods is currently accepting new projects or give a season.
