**What you get:** Advice from a state district forester on management planning, treatments, tree health, planting and funding, with no minimum parcel size

Forestry Division foresters provide technical assistance to New Mexico landowners in all 33 counties, including developing resource management plans, insect and disease identification, facilitating forest health project funding, and distributing low-cost seedlings. Through the Forest Stewardship Program, run with the USDA Forest Service, a stewardship plan written by a resource professional and approved by the State Forester covers landowner objectives, wildlife, soil, water, recreation, cultural resources and timber; stewardship practices must be maintained for 10 years. The page also mentions a state-administered cost-share program for forest management and the Forest Health Initiative.

## Who qualifies
