**What you get:** Toll-free Green Helpline 1800-11-8600 and an online portal to report damage to or illegal cutting of trees; pruning of branches that obstruct a house needs Form B permission from the divisional tree officer

Trees in Delhi are protected under the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act 1994. The Forest Department's Green Helpline portal takes complaints in four categories (wildlife, encroachment, protection of trees, damage to trees), gives each a tracking number and shows status online. The department FAQ says lopping branches that obstruct a house requires applying on Form B to the tree officer of the relevant divisional office; felling permissions are handled on a separate DPTA portal.

## Who qualifies

Anyone in Delhi can register a complaint. Pruning or felling permission is sought by the person responsible for the tree or property.

## How to apply

Call 1800-11-8600 or use 'Register a Complaint' at ghl.eforest.delhi.gov.in. For pruning, submit Form B to the divisional tree officer; for felling, apply at dpta.eforest.delhi.gov.in.

**For:** Homeowners, Renters, Community groups, Businesses

> Note: The portal says its SMS alerts to officers are temporarily unavailable. No fee or processing time is published for Form B.
