**What you get:** Grants of $200 to $500 for Arbor Day tree planting and awareness projects in Alaska communities

The Alaska Community Forest Council offers small grants, about $3,000 in total, for projects that raise Arbor Day awareness, promote public understanding of tree benefits, demonstrate tree selection or care, or use trees to address community problems such as stormwater, windbreaks or traffic calming. Trees planted must be high quality, suited to the site, meet the American Standard for Nursery Stock, and have a three-year budgeted maintenance plan. Funds cannot pay wages or benefits.
