## About

WeForest is a Brussels-based nonprofit founded in 2009 by Bill Liao and Marie-Noelle Keijzer. It runs forest and landscape restoration programmes with governments, local organizations and communities in East Africa (Ethiopia), Southern Africa (Zambia, Miombo belt), West Africa (Senegal mangroves, Great Green Wall) and South America (Brazil wildlife corridors), combining planting, assisted natural regeneration and livelihood activities. Its 2024 annual report says it passed its goal of 100 million trees in 2024, two years early.
