## About

Texas Trees Foundation is a Dallas-based nonprofit, operating since 1982, that plants and distributes trees and conducts urban forestry research and planning across Texas. Its Cool Schools program converts paved schoolyards into tree-shaded outdoor learning areas in Dallas-Fort Worth and, through a partnership, in Yolo County, California. The foundation grows trees at the TXU Energy Urban Tree Farm and Education Center and publishes annual reports with planting and distribution counts.

## Programs

- **Cool Schools** — Urban forestry (2015–present): Transforms paved schoolyards into tree-shaded outdoor learning areas, targeting at least 30% canopy, in Dallas-Fort Worth and Yolo County, California.
- **TXU Energy Urban Tree Farm and Education Center** — Nurseries & seedlings: Tree farm that grows trees for the foundation's plantings and distributions.
- **Urban Forestry plantings and consulting** — Urban forestry: Tree plantings, distributions, and urban forestry planning across Texas cities.
