## About

Sadhana Forest was founded in December 2003 by Aviram and Yorit Rozin on 70 acres of eroded land at the edge of Auroville, Tamil Nadu, to restore the Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest and recharge the water table. It is run largely by international residential volunteers and has since opened centres in Virudhunagar and Meghalaya in India as well as Haiti, Kenya and Namibia, where the focus is food forestry for food security. The Auroville site reports over 27,000 trees planted and about 100,000 naturally regenerated.

## Programs

- **Sadhana Forest Auroville** — Reforestation (2003–present): Original 70-acre campus restoring Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest and recharging the water table on eroded land outside Auroville. https://sadhanaforest.org/auroville/
- **Food forest centres** — Food forests & orchards: Centres in Virudhunagar (India), Haiti, Kenya and Namibia that plant food-bearing trees with marginalised communities for long-term food security.
