## About

Reforestamos México A.C. was established in May 2002 at the initiative of Grupo Bimbo after the 1998 forest fires and is based in Mexico City. Its 2030 strategy runs four programs: Bosques (community forest management, conservation and restoration, including FSC certification support), Árboles (urban tree planting and the Árboles y Ciudades agenda), Incidencia (policy) and a corporate volunteering program, Mejores Alianzas, Mejores Bosques, that mobilises thousands of company volunteers for planting days. It reported about 295,000 trees planted in rural areas in 2025 and 215,337 in 2024, and represents the 1t.org Mexico chapter.

## Programs

- **Programa Bosques** — Reforestation: Community forest management, conservation and restoration in rural forest ejidos, including FSC certification support and rural reforestation plantings.
- **Mejores Alianzas, Mejores Bosques** — Reforestation: Corporate volunteering program in which company employees plant trees in rural restoration sites alongside communities.
- **Programa Árboles / Árboles y Ciudades** — Urban forestry: Urban tree planting, pollinator gardens and advocacy for better urban tree management, including the Centro Histórico alliance in Mexico City.
