## About

Landcare Australia is an independent national not-for-profit established in 1989 and based in Chatswood, Sydney, that raises corporate and government funding and distributes it as grants to community landcare, coastcare and First Nations groups for revegetation, weed control, habitat and sustainable farming projects. Its programs include the Landcare Australia Community Grants, Junior Landcare, Coastcare, the Corporate Environmental Volunteering program, Landcare Week and the National Landcare Awards. In FY2024-25 it distributed over A$2.46 million through 218 funded projects that established 206,302 trees and plants and restored 1,450 hectares.

## Programs

- **Landcare Australia grants programs** — Reforestation: Corporate- and government-funded grants (15 programs in FY2024-25) to community groups for revegetation, riparian planting, weed control and habitat projects across Australia. https://landcareaustralia.org.au/what-we-do/grants/
- **Corporate Environmental Volunteering** — Tree care & maintenance: Places corporate volunteer teams with landcare groups for planting, nursery propagation and weeding days. https://landcareaustralia.org.au/get-involved/corporate-environmental-volunteering/
- **Junior Landcare** — Education & advocacy: Grants and learning resources for schools and youth groups; 66,102 young people took part in FY2024-25.

## Metrics

> Note: Landcare Australia is a grant-maker and coordinating body, not a planting organisation: the 206,302 figure counts 'trees and plants established' (including shrubs and ground covers) by projects it funded or supported in FY2024-25, as reported by those groups, not trees planted by its own staff. It does not publish a cumulative tree total. The annual report's infographic page renders the same figure ambiguously in extracted text, so the SDG-section wording is used.

Confidence: self-reported is the organization's own published figure; independently verified means a third party confirmed it; estimated means TreeRM derived it and the note says how.
