## About

Greenfleet is a Melbourne-based environmental not-for-profit, launched in October 1997, that plants biodiverse native forests to capture carbon on behalf of individuals and businesses who offset their emissions. Its forests are legally protected for up to 100 years and have included koala habitat in Queensland and northern New South Wales, the 340-hectare Ngulambarra property and the Strzelecki Nature Link in Victoria, and sites in New Zealand since 2015. It reports 11.7 million native trees planted in more than 580 forests covering about 11,700 hectares since 1997, including 459 hectares revegetated in 2025.

## Programs

- **Native biodiverse offset forests** — Carbon offset planting (1997–present): Plants mixed native forests funded by car, flight, household and business offsets, protected for up to 100 years and registered to remove a stated tonnage of carbon. https://www.greenfleet.com.au/pages/offset
- **Koala habitat restoration** — Reforestation: Revegetation of koala food and shelter tree species on properties such as Ivory Creek (SE Queensland) and Greentrees (Northern Rivers NSW); 444 hectares of new koala habitat planted in 2025.

## Metrics

> Note: Greenfleet reports hectares revegetated and tonnes of carbon rather than an annual tree count; the only tree figure is the cumulative 11.7 million since 1997, which covers both Australia and New Zealand. Its 2025 total of 459 hectares includes the 444 hectares of koala habitat, so the two 2025 figures overlap rather than add. Carbon figures are projected sequestration over the forests' lifetime, not measured removals.
