## About

A Rocha Ghana, established in 1999 as the Eden Conservation Society and based in Accra, is the Ghanaian member of the A Rocha conservation network. It restores degraded forest reserves and farmland in the Atewa Range, around Mole National Park and Lake Bosumtwi, runs community nurseries, agroforestry and shea value chains, and leads the #SaveAtewa campaign against bauxite mining. Its 2023 annual report counts 1,172,200 trees planted and 1,986 hectares of degraded land restored since its founding.

## Programs

- **Climate Change Mitigation & Adaptation (landscape restoration)** — Reforestation: Restores degraded forest reserves and community lands in the Atewa landscape, Asenanyo Forest Reserve and around Mole National Park with native seedlings raised in community nurseries. https://ghana.arocha.org/
- **Green Economy Development & Livelihood Enhancement** — Agroforestry: Works with smallholder farmers, including cocoa farmers at Lake Bosumtwi and shea collectors in the north, to integrate trees into farms and value chains. https://ghana.arocha.org/
- **Conservation Education and Policy Advocacy** — Education & advocacy: Schools programme, Eco Church and creation-care work, plus the #SaveAtewa campaign and policy advocacy on forest reserves and mining. https://ghana.arocha.org/
