Eligible landowners can receive up to the maximum approved amount of assistance each fiscal year. In return the land must stay in forestry use for 10 years; if it is sold, the original recipient remains responsible unless the new owner accepts the obligation in writing.","eligibility":"Landowners in any Louisiana parish with a minimum of 10 contiguous acres suitable for growing a commercially valuable timber species. There is no maximum ownership size.","how_to_apply":"Get an application from an LDAF forester, industry or consulting forester (a non-refundable application fee applies). A forester trained in the FPP prepares a management plan listing the practices and acres; the LDAF forester approves it and forwards it to the state office. Wait for written funding authorization and notify the LDAF forester before starting work; after inspection, submit receipts for payment. Applications are taken first come, first served.
