A City Plants inspector and certified arborist choose the location and species. The resident agrees to water the tree while it establishes.","eligibility":"You must live in an area currently accepting new applications (check the eligibility map on the page) and have a parkway in front of your house or building with room for a tree. The page does not state whether renters can apply, but it refers to the parkway in front of your 'house or building'.","how_to_apply":"Verify your address is in an area accepting applications, then use the APPLY NOW link on the page. Once planted, the tree needs water for the first 3-5 years while its roots grow in.
