Residents could donate any amount; once 500 euros was collected for a tree the state budget covered the remaining cost (about 3,000 euros per tree including roughly three years of care), and each campaign tree got a sign for about three years. The campaign reports around 19,000 new street trees and about 3.47 million euros in donations by 2026.","eligibility":"Anyone could donate; small amounts were pooled into collective donations. Tree species are set by the district offices, not the donor.","how_to_apply":"No donations are currently accepted. The last donation window, for the autumn 2026 planting, ran 1 May to 15 September 2026; since November 2026 donations are suspended indefinitely and none can be made for the spring 2027 planting.
