{"slug":"understorey-network","name":"Understorey Network","tagline":"Tasmanian community nursery and plant database; grow native understorey for your block or revegetation","description":"The Understorey Network started in 1994 to put shrubs, grasses and groundcovers back under Tasmania's replanted trees, since a forest with no understorey feeds little. Its nursery in Glenorchy propagates more than 180 species, its database covers 1,800 Tasmanian plants with lists by municipality, and its Growers Scheme teaches members to raise natives at home. Volunteers are welcome at the nursery.","website_url":"https://www.understorey-network.org.au","tier":"listed","resident_offers":["volunteer","education","discounted_trees"],"listed_source_url":"https://www.understorey-network.org.au/","logo_url":null,"founded_year":1994,"org_type":"community","scope":"regional","headquarters":{"city":"Glenorchy","region":"Tasmania","country":"AU","lat":-42.833,"lng":147.275},"volunteer_url":"https://www.understorey-network.org.au/volunteer","donation_url":null,"events_url":"https://www.understorey-network.org.au/events","featured":false,"trees_on_record":0,"primary_activity":"nursery-seedling-production","activities":[{"slug":"nursery-seedling-production","name":"Nurseries & seedlings","primary":true},{"slug":"reforestation","name":"Reforestation","primary":false},{"slug":"education-advocacy","name":"Education & advocacy","primary":false}],"updated_at":"2026-11-08T02:21:52.718Z","url":"https://treerm.org/org/understorey-network","markdown_url":"https://treerm.org/org/understorey-network.md","api_url":"https://treerm.org/api/v1/organizations/understorey-network","data_note":null,"derived":{"annual_trees":[],"latest_annual":null,"yoy":null,"cagr":null,"dollars_raised_per_tree":null,"cost_per_tree":null,"trees_per_volunteer":null,"survival":null,"hectares":null,"transparency":{"score":0,"label":"Opaque","points":[{"key":"annual","label":"Publishes annual tree figures","earned":0,"max":20,"why":"No year-by-year figures found"},{"key":"recent","label":"Figures are recent","earned":0,"max":15,"why":"No dated annual figure"},{"key":"sourced","label":"Every figure has a public source","earned":0,"max":10,"why":"No figures on record"},{"key":"money","label":"Publishes financials or cost per tree","earned":0,"max":15,"why":"No financial figure on record"},{"key":"survival","label":"Reports survival or monitoring","earned":0,"max":15,"why":"No survival or monitoring figure on record"},{"key":"verified","label":"Independently verified figure","earned":0,"max":10,"why":"Every figure is the organization's own count"},{"key":"programs","label":"Breaks figures down by program","earned":0,"max":10,"why":"No program breakdown"},{"key":"people","label":"Reports volunteers or events","earned":0,"max":5,"why":"No volunteer figures or events on record"}]},"methodology":"https://treerm.org/methodology"},"countries":["AU"],"social_links":{"instagram":"https://www.instagram.com/understoreytas","facebook":"https://www.facebook.com/Understoreynetwork"},"programs":[],"metrics":[],"upcoming_events":[],"license":"CC-BY-4.0"}
