It operates a community-assisted tree nursery in Creve Coeur Park and provides trees to public and nonprofit land statewide through Project CommuniTree and Priority ReLeaf, while its ReLeaf St. Louis, Treesilience, and City Tree Farm programs plant and steward street and park trees in low-canopy neighborhoods. The organization also collects seed for the state nursery and runs volunteer and education programs.","website_url":"https://moreleaf.org","logo_url":null,"founded_year":1993,"org_type":"nonprofit","scope":"regional","headquarters":{"city":"St. Louis","region":"Missouri","country":"US","lat":38.627,"lng":-90.1994},"volunteer_url":"https://moreleaf.org/volunteer/","donation_url":"https://moreleaf.org/get-involved/give/","events_url":"https://moreleaf.org/events/","featured":false,"trees_on_record":16918,"primary_activity":"nursery-seedling-production","activities":[{"slug":"nursery-seedling-production","name":"Nurseries & seedlings","primary":true},{"slug":"urban-forestry","name":"Urban forestry","primary":false},{"slug":"tree-adoption-giveaway","name":"Tree adoption & giveaways","primary":false},{"slug":"seed-collection","name":"Seed collection","primary":false},{"slug":"tree-care-maintenance","name":"Tree care & maintenance","primary":false},{"slug":"education-advocacy","name":"Education & advocacy","primary":false}],"updated_at":"2026-11-07T21:30:23.685Z","url":"https://treerm.org/org/forest-releaf-of-missouri","markdown_url":"https://treerm.org/org/forest-releaf-of-missouri.md","api_url":"https://treerm.org/api/v1/organizations/forest-releaf-of-missouri","countries":["US"],"social_links":{"instagram":"https://www.instagram.com/forestreleaf","facebook":"https://www.facebook.com/forestreleaf","linkedin":"https://www.linkedin.com/company/forest-releaf-of-missouri"},"programs":[{"slug":"communitree-nursery","name":"CommuniTree nursery","activity":"nursery-seedling-production","description":"Community-assisted nonprofit tree nursery in Creve Coeur Park growing trees for distribution statewide.","url":null,"started_year":null,"ended_year":null},{"slug":"project-communitree","name":"Project CommuniTree","activity":"tree-adoption-giveaway","description":"Provides free nursery-grown trees to public and nonprofit land across Missouri.","url":null,"started_year":null,"ended_year":null},{"slug":"releaf-st-louis","name":"ReLeaf St. Louis","activity":"urban-forestry","description":"Plants larger-caliper trees in St. Louis city parks and greenways with a minimum of three years of watering, pruning, and monitoring.","url":null,"started_year":null,"ended_year":null},{"slug":"treesilience","name":"Treesilience","activity":"tree-care-maintenance","description":"Education, targeted tree care and removal, and replanting in low-canopy St. Louis neighborhoods, funded by the USDA Forest Service.","url":null,"started_year":null,"ended_year":null},{"slug":"state-nursery-seed-collection","name":"State Nursery Seed Collection","activity":"seed-collection","description":"Collects native tree seed for the Missouri state nursery.","url":null,"started_year":null,"ended_year":null}],"metrics":[{"metric_type":"trees_planted","year":2025,"value":16918,"is_cumulative":false,"program":null,"source_url":"https://moreleaf.org/impact/","source_note":"Impact page counters 'In 2025 this looked like': 16,918 trees planted, 403 planting projects, 16,313 volunteer hours; same figures on p.2 of 2025 Annual Report","confidence":"reported"},{"metric_type":"seedlings_produced","year":2025,"value":18000,"is_cumulative":false,"program":"communitree-nursery","source_url":"https://moreleaf.org/impact/","source_note":"Impact page counters: 18,000 seedlings potted in 2025, 62 species grown","confidence":"reported"},{"metric_type":"survival_rate_pct","year":2025,"value":90,"is_cumulative":false,"program":"releaf-st-louis","source_url":"https://moreleaf.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/FRL-2025AR-Web-1.pdf","source_note":"2025 Annual Report: ReLeaf St. Louis park trees 're-inventoried every year and have a survival rate of over 90%' (program-specific, not all plantings)","confidence":"reported"}],"upcoming_events":[],"license":"CC-BY-4.0"}
